Certus Course Certification (CCC) provides training providers with a robust and valid certification process that provides benefits to both course participants and training providers. CCC demonstrates to a global audience that a training course has been evaluated against a comprehensive body of knowledge based upon ISO standards.
CCC focuses on learners’ needs and learning outcomes. CCC gives you a solid framework and valuable feedback to improve your training courses:
- Value: CCC fees are based on the Knowledge Units used to comprise a course. There are no per student fees and no royalties.
- Validity: CCC is based on ISO 29993, a service standard that specifies a set of minimum requirements for learning services.
- Verification: Annual course evaluation and triennial recertification gives you and your students assurance that your courses remain valid.
Our comprehensive course evaluation process ensures your course meets learning objectives now and in the future:
- Company Evaluation: We conduct an evaluation of your organization to determine if you have the right resources to effectively deliver courses.
- Course Review: We conduct a review of the course materials and a witnessed audit of the course itself to determine if the course meets the learning objectives specified in the Knowledge Units and that the course is being delivered effectively.
- Ongoing Evaluation: We review the course output and conduct a witnessed audit every year. Every three years, we conduct a comprehensive course recertification process.
- Detailed Reporting: We provide you with detailed feedback you can use to improve your course content, delivery, and effectiveness.
Certus Knowledge Units are based upon ISO standards, such as ISO 9001 and ISO 19011. Plus, they meet the competence requirements of ISO 17021. Knowledge Units may be mixed and matched to match your course needs.
For example, QMS Lead Auditor = AUD (Auditor) + ATL (Audit Team Leader) + QMS (Quality Management System).
Knowledge Units are built around the discipline-specific competency requirements outlined in the respective ISO standard and ISO 17021. For example, the Body of Knowledge for the QMS Lead Auditor course is built upon the competence requirements outlined in ISO 19011 for auditors and lead auditors; ISO 17021-3, Competence requirements for auditing and certification of quality management systems; and ISO 9001.
Each Knowledge Unit is comprised of learning objectives for each course element. These learning objectives are based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and represent the six levels of cognitive learning in a hierarchy.
Build your course assessment your way. CCC doesn’t mandate a specific assessment style or exam. Why? Because Certus Professional Certification has its own set of knowledge exams it administers to those who apply for auditor certification. This allows you greater freedom in designing a course assessment that best fits your course, your learners’ needs, and your learning outcomes.
